Frequently Asked Questions.
What is Field of Daisy’s Doggy Playcare?
Field of Daisy’s Doggy Playcare is a family-owned dog care facility located on a 4.74-acre property in Madras, OR. We offer playcare and boarding services where dogs can enjoy a safe, fun, and spacious environment with plenty of space to run, explore, and socialize with other dogs.
At Field of Daisy’s Doggy Playcare, we offer daily playcare services (Mon-Fri 7am-6pm) and overnight boarding. Your dog will have access to our large, fully fenced property where they can play, exercise, and interact with other dogs. We are not your typical daycare, we want to create a space were your dog can be with all his friends without the worry of aggressive dogs. We want your dog to be active all day so when they go home or in for the night, if they are boarding they will be tired and ready for some rest.
We also provide enrichment activities and training, as well as regular updates through photos and videos shared on our Facebook page.
What types of dogs can join your playcare?
We welcome dogs of all sizes, but to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for all, we require that male dogs be fixed and all dogs be free from any aggressive behavior. We also test for food aggression, toy aggression, and other types of behavioral concerns. Dogs that pass our temperament test and have all required shots are invited to join our playgroup.
What is the assessment process?
Before your dog can join our playcare or boarding programs, we require an assessment, we call it “MEET AND GREET” this is to check their temperament. We normally do this later in the evening when the dogs are out of energy. We start by introducing your dog to our property off leash, so we can see how they react to all the different smells. Once they are comfortable we introduce our dog Daisy to them and watch the interaction between them. (It is fun to watch Daisy working) She knows how and when to approach your dog so they feel comfortable. Once we feel your dog is comfortable we will throw a ball to see how they react, Daisy will chase the ball and see if they chase Daisy for play or go after the ball… we will do additional test to see how they react. This is done to ensure your dog is a good fit for our playgroup and can interact safely with other dogs. We look for signs of aggression and other behavioral concerns. We want to create a positive, safe environment for all dogs.

What is not allowed at Field of Daisy’s Doggy Playcare?
For the safety and well-being of all dogs in our care, we have a few restrictions. We do not allow the following:
Aggressive behavior: Dogs with signs of aggression, whether towards people, other dogs, food, or toys, will not be accepted into our playgroup.
Unneutered MALE dogs: All male dogs over 6-months of age must be fixed to minimize the risk of unwanted fighting or aggression.
Unvaccinated dogs: We require all dogs to be up-to-date on vaccinations, including rabies, distemper, and Bordetella.
Health concerns: Dogs with contagious diseases, parasites, or severe health issues are not allowed until they are cleared by a vet.
Loose Stool/Diarrhea: Dogs that have Diarrhea should be kept home till they are feeling better and their stool is back to normal.
Toxic items: We ask that you refrain from sending your dog with personal items like rawhide bones, certain types of toys, or anything that could pose a choking hazard or cause injury.
We appreciate your understanding as these guidelines are in place to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for all dogs at Field of Daisy’s Doggy Playcare.
Accidents and Injury’s
We do our best to prevent any injuries. Since dogs play with their mouth and paws during normal play, a dog may get minor scratches or nicks that may break skin. Although extremely rare, more serious injuries could occur. We want the dogs to have fun and enjoy themselves but we do limit the rough play as it can easily get out of hand. We encourage vest/clothing which will give additional protection.
Are the dogs left alone?
No, there will be someone monitoring and playing with the playgroup at all times.
Cold Days / Hot days
For Days that are cold we have a warm up room where the dogs can take a break from Play and get out of the elements. It is heated during Winter and Cooled during summer.
Our Boarding room is also temperature controlled to keep your fur friends feeling comfortable year round.
